Just got done redoing my kitchen, time to connect the oven and hob...
Before I get an electrician in and he decides to take me for a ride and charge me for things I do not need or takes dangerous short cuts, does my oven and hob need to be earthed and if so, where do they get earthed..?
Right now there is a 45A isolator switch between the stove breaker and the oven and the hob.. The isolator switch has the earth connections blanked out from the factory, so earth clearly cannot be connected there.. the previous owners of the flat made the change for the isolator switch and replaced the wall box with a PVC one and I can see the old metal wallbox with a threaded hole sticking out, which looks like it could be for an earth connection..
Can the oven and hob be earthed at the metal wallbox with the threaded hole if they need to be earthed..?
