Like EMT64, or iAMD as it is also know. And moving away from rambus ram (which was a scam on its own). These days they are also looking at copying the integrated memory controller approach that AMD has been using for a while now. Intel had to recall the 1ghz P3 because they did a rush job on it and the P4s netburst architecture was a flop.
Sure, AMD copied x86 from Intel, but they did it under license and their CPUs kicked ass. Intel 386s topped out at 33Mhz while AMD made them go up to 40Mhz without heatsink or fan! It even kicked 486 ass. So AMD did copy, but they made intel micro device more advanced, hence the name Advanced Micro Devices.
If you look at all the innovation they put into x86 I think we all owe them a big thanks else Intel would have tried to sink us all with their itanics.
The last good Intel was the PII - and I loved mine. But since then it has been AMD all the way and I am currently using a X2 6000 (dual core 3ghz) on a Biostar 690 board. My next upgrade will be to a 790GX board, later on to a quad phenom.
Intel is for the suits and old folks - oh - and Micheal Dell, and he'll burn in hell.
AMD and Biostar FTW ! (yeah, I'm a fanboi since 2001 and proud of it)
Let me start by laughing at you *ha ha ha*
Right now that is out the way lets take apart your points.
Firstly let look at EMT64, are you that naive that you didnt assume computing would move up to a 64-bit level? You do understand the amount of processes that can run in the registers and the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit dont you? if not google it and come back when you are more educated. Its the same as the natural progressions that took place from 8-bit to 16 and then 32. So if a manufacturer wanted to carry on with this progression they would need to develop a product that supports it. That funny hearing Intel copied AMD on 64-bit technology.
Integrated memory controllers.
Yeah sure AMD used that first and it worked very well for them in terms or the K8 series, kudos to them for that. I had two K8's and I liked them.
However.... Intel using an integrated controller have obliterated AMD's similar techonology so you could look at that as an improvement I guess.
With regards to Intel recalling CPU's just take a look at AMD and their desperate launch of the Phenoms, nuff' said.
Woo AMD copied Intel on x86 same as Intel copied them on the integrated memory controller.
With regards to not having a heatsink it was the last time, because from that point on AMD suffered from that nasty STD called "overheating"
Your blah blah about your pc that we dont really care about I will skip. other than to say well done, my E8400 which is also a 3GHZ runs merrily at 4GHZ 24/7 with stock cooler - lets see yours do that.
Michael Dell and you should kiss and make up.
Intel being for suits and old folk makes me laugh, considering Intel is the gaming processor of choice for all large high end manufacturers. The fastest Intel is substantially faster than the fastest AMD.
So you can be a fanboi etc etc etc, but be sure that when you give your opinion, someone like me who is educated is these areas will be there to give their opinion back, just as I did now.
So to end I will laugh at you again * ha ha ha*
