New PC components

I am thinking of building my own new gaming PC, but I am quite new to this.
I have come up with what I think I should have in my new PC, but I am not quite sure if they are all compatible or if they are all I need.
Please could you advise:
-Q6600 Intel Core 2 Quad LGA775 2.40GHz Quad Core, 1066Mhz FSB
8MB Cache, VT, EIST, EM64T, XD
-ASUS Intel P5N32-E SLI Nvidia 680i SLI
-2 x XfX Geforce Alpha Dog Edition 8800GT - Extreme Edition (512)(SLI)
-Seagate Barracuda HDD - SATA-300 - 32MB Cache - 500GB
-4gig ram OCZ PC2-6400 DDR2-800 2Gb Kit (4 X 1Gb) SLI-Ready Edition
XTC
-Antec Nine Hundred Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
-Zalman CNPS9700 NT CPU Cooler
-OCZ GameXStream Power Supply - 700w
-Zalman ZM-NB47J Aluminium North Bridge Heat Sink
:It all comes to about R17500

Please could you also tell me if 700watt is enough for the dual graphics cards, or if they will run better with a stronger power supply

So please could anyone advise me on what I might need more or if any of these components are not good enough.
Also I will get the OS, monitor, speakers and the keyboard and mouse at a later stage.

Make sure you get a 64-bit operating system. I'd personally buy a bigger PSU, but that's just me :p Nice rig, mate :)

That's going to be a beast. There are going to be a lot of jealous forumites. Definately add your rig specs to your signature to hurt them :D

Yup...like the look of that 500gb HD, never mind the rest of the goodies.
Only thing you could really improve is the CPU cooler. The Zalman is good, but a thermalright ultra 120 extreme is the best. Even a thermalright ultima 90 is a better cooler for cheaper.So your choice.

Maybe, just maybe go for one 8800GT now as the next(and we don't exactly know what they are yet) gen GFX cards from nvidia are being released in feb apparently.

If the new cards rock you could sell your current GT and get a next gen card for the R5000 odd bucks. Or if they suck real hard then you could just get the other GT and Sli as you would of originally done..?
Just a thought.

Yeah you should be fine. Just make sure to not buy second-rate peripherals :)

Are you planning on overclocking the CPU?
 
Ya, but I need to learn how.
They said overclocking a 2.4 is exactly the same or even better as having a 2.6GH quad

Go to advanced options and there is a "wrap quote tags around selected text" button after you have highligted the text you want to have quoted.

What exactly are you referring to about the cooler? The fan that you must put on afterwards? As in what fan?
