Hi I need to get a graphics card for my pc unfortunately I don't know anything about them. I want to use my pc for mild gaming playing games like pro evolution soccer. I have a core i5- 3330 processor with 4GB RAM. I only have a budget of R2500 and with that I need to by a good graphics card a a psu that can support it. Can you guys please advise on what would be the best graphics card/psu combo to get for my pc.
BTW I'm based in Cape Town if that matters at all

GeForce 650TI would be top of my list. Great mid-range card that would run off a 450W PSU. Esquire has the Gigabyte 650Ti for under R2000.

Retail wise you should be able to get a 1GB 650ti for R2k or a 2GB HD7850 for R2.5k

Edit: I see you need a gpu & psu, then go for the 650ti & a psu. What's your current psu, maybe it's good enough?

Qqme, you don't even need to spend R2500 ^_^

PowerColor HD7790 1GB w/ Never Settle bundle @ R1599

The card doesn't need a lot of power so you can pop by a local PC store and get yourself a Molex to 6-pin converter to power the card from your current PSU. Otherwise, I can highly recommend Corsair's VS450. If you don't want the games, you can easily sell the Steam codes to someone who does want them.

PSE will also run with all the graphics settings on maximum at 1080p with this card.

Thanks guys for the response my current psu is 450 watts so that should be good enough? And ram wise is 4gigs enough?

650Ti is very energy efficient. I reckon you could try it on your current PSU. If not, then upgrade PSU as well.

I'm still on 4GB DDR3 and I manage quite well. And the PSU will be more than enough, so you'll just need the adapter.

I've been looking at GPU's the last week and asking advice..

My opinion would be the PowerColor 7790 -R1699 i think?

And from what i've read..the 7790 is better than the 650ti..though the 650ti Boost is better than the Powercolor 7790
450watt should be enough

192bit memory on the 650ti BOOST would be better on the long run. Also, Geforce is known to be more efficient.

That's why i'm saying the 7790 is good..better than the 650ti BUT..650ti boost is better than the 7790

The Boost will also be more expensive, since Nvidia will price it locally to match the reference HD7850 2GB, so on average the price will be much higher at around R2200.

^^ He would need a new PSU for the HD7870. Lol at your post.

Like i said i'd go for the powercolor 7790..for R1599...more than enough for what you want to do and you can buy a decent power supply for future reference
