Surely you could swap out the AMD motherboard and processor for Intel parts? Unless you're die-hard AMD, there's really no good reason to go for AMD over Intel atm, IMO

300W should be enough, unless you're planning to install a big, power-hungry graphics card any time soon.

And I'd pump the machine full of RAM. What operating system are you going to be running?

what work are you into because amd is not great work related stuff hey

why u buying expensive ram for a work pc?

why u not buying a cheap chassis for a work pc? how much is the chassis and how much is the memory? how much is the mobo?

300w is way more than enough

Drop the AMD stuff as suggested, go for a generic/cheaper case and put some thought into how you are going to do backups. DVD/Flash etc?

Ya, and 300W should be enough for office stuff but you can get something better for not much more cash just in case...

Thanks for the replies. :)

I'm not biased towards either CPU manufacturer. Personally, I'll choose Intel over AMD based on performance. Cost wise, the AMD's are cheaper. Unless I'm missing something?

We have an automated backup solution, so no need to burn anything to CD/DVD.

Yeah, 2GB of RAM should be sufficient. The idea behind that PSU/Case is that it's all-in-one and pretty decently priced.

The prices are from a dealer so they're as cheap as you'll get - plus it's excl VAT.

Anyway, I might have a look at a laptop too.

Got a:
MSI G31M2
Intel Pentium E2160
2GB DDR2-800 [Coarsair/Kingmax] :p
250GB WD HDD

all for about 2.9k :D Very happy with it slapped in my freinds HD3850 and was playing Crysis no problems! :)

EDIT: For a Case you could try the "Gigbayte M1" - think thats the name It's a mATX case comes with a 300watt PSU :)

Dont you mean pentium E2160?

Oops!
My Bad, thanks for pointing that out :p

If you can squeeze a little more out you could try get the E2200
E 2160 | 1.8Ghz = R772
E 2180 | 2.0Ghz = R696
E 2200 | 2.2Ghz = R772
 from Sybaritic... :D guess the E2200 is the best for the price!
