Now i want to buy a new pc. My budget will be between R10 000 and R11 000. Max at the moment can be up to R12 000. Now I will send a voice mail to Nexxon to see if my gaming rig of my dream will fall into my budget.

I live in Centurion in Gauteng. Is there any good low price quality PC shop i should go to? I ultimately want a quad core pc with a high Ghz (ram can be low for the moment as that is upgradeable). Also i already have a Nvidia 8600Gt graphics card so I'm not too worried about a new graphics card. So what do you guys recommend? Well with what i want i probably have burst my budget. Also is it more worth while to wait for say 6 months because i hear a 16 core is coming out?

Also in my specs what is better atm moment between Nvidia and ATI and also Intel vs Amd. I was always told AMD PC where bad at calculating but i dont buy that.

Need a 500W - no idea on the price, only quickly looked at PCInt's pricelist..
R700

Check http://game.amd.com/us-en/crossfirex_components.aspx?p=3#ATI Radeon™ HD 4870 to be sure before you buy (if you go for the 4870)

-----

Total: R11,000 Excluding VAT, so R12,500 Including VAT

R12,500 - a little over budget and the PSU should be a bit more (i'm not sure, cause it's not my PC lol) so only did a quick check..

so if you can only go 12G's you just need to sacrifice some Ram, maybe a smaller screen - maybe not such an expensive mobo even, whatever - just remove what you don't need to keep it below 12,000 :o but i'd say it's a good "base system" that you can change as you feel (i dunno your ram/hdd/mobo for future upgrade requirements)

but i'd suggest getting the 4870 - throw as much cash as you can into your GFX card !!

hope this helps.

EDIT: oh - done with www.pcint.co.za pricelist (08-12-2008) so a few things may be cheaper since it's January and not xmas)

these guys might be able to upgrade and build the ultimate gaming machine with ur cash

Thxs guys. Wow i bought a Core 2 Duo, 2 gig ram, 8600 Gt (Nvidia), 2.2 ghz for about R 9000 last year. I think Nexxon might be a bit expensive.

Ummm yea remember last year the rand only hit 9 towards the end of the year, so they ripped you something bad man

I would not get a Seagate with the way things are going. Normally I wouldn't get any other brand for a hard drive but right now they need to be treated like the plague.

Oh, where do you see 2 x 2GB DDRII-1066 Hyper X (Kingston) (4GB?) for R500? That seems like a good price.

That's a nice pc built with the old PC International website prices. Does anyone know when they will be updating the prices on the website again?
