the s in the https is the catch...I assume they have done something similar to https://www.absa.co.za?

absa is on http://www.absa.co.za unless you click on a link in an email.
I suppose absa own both to prevent something like this.. but you would have to never been on the internet no to realise that's not the url to the internet bank.

Sorry guess that was a bit convolutedUmm, not sure I'm understanding you - are you saying that https is the problem? And that no bank url will start with https?
Because that's just wrong, so I'm assuming I'm missing something in what you're saying.
