Please have a look at the specs of the rig I am intending on building.
Any suggestions , and advice on a better deal are welcome.
The rig is from NIVO. I have no experience with them so if anyone can comment on the store I would appreciate it.
Thanks

Seems a waste to go i-7 with DDR2, look around for a DDR3 motherboard

Get the GA-EG31M-S2, not the S2L, it's a newer board and it costs the same. It's the same board the one is just Rev1.0 and the other Rev2.0. Not a biggie though.

For slightly cheaper you can get a phenom2 720 which will last you a lot longer when it comes to gaming.

Gta4, far cry 2, Crysis and supreme commander all love the extra core. Future games will only make more use of the extra core.

Why a E8400? For the same price you can get a Quad Core Q8200 OR for almost R600 cheaper get a similar spec'd Dual Core albeit with a 1066 FSB, and less cache. Also the RAM seems overkill (price for four GB). The pricing is also a little high, could get it cheaper somewhere else; PM me for details....

You should look at amd for gaming hey, could get yourself a tri core like quik says and a better vga card, personally i think a 260 for 2.6k is crazy when a 4890 costs 100 bucks more.

What about a Q8400 for R 2,247.01
Q8400 Intel Core 2 Quad 2.66GHz Processor - Socket 775, L2 Cache 4MB, 1333MHz FSB, 45nm, x64 Support

I'm not an AMD fan, I've had bad experiences with AMD.

And the Sapphire HD 4890 1GB looks like a better deal than the Nvidia

Nivo is a cool shop. Have bought from them before and they got excellent service..
Even use to work there at some stage...:)
