There is a new ROM available for the S7 Slim, I'm going to link to the article and then rewrite it in sane mode to be understood by one and all.

NOTE:
Obviously where you read "LINUX" you just skip that section if you are on another OS.

LINUX:
Make sure you have the latest android-sdk and platform-tools installed, you will need fastboot in there

Particulars:
PIRATE 2.0
Android 2.2.3

First, make sure you have OpenRecovery installed:
1. Download this 7zip:
https://rapidshare.com/files/2454804391/201u.7z

2. Unzip the file.

3. Power off your device. Press the volume up and power key at the same time until the device enters the fastboot mode. Keep the buttons depressed until you see some text on screen confirming fastboot mode.

4. Run install.bat
LINUX: Run the following commands:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash logo logo.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot
Make sure you are in the correct dir and all the files are present before using fastboot.

5. Wait a few seconds and reboot, it should reboot on it's own, if not: fastboot reboot

6. After complete boot-up, run "reboot into recovery.bat" and the device will enter "recovery mode" and you can backup or restore your device.
(note:you should press the volume key until it cycled through the menu three times, then you will see a message "back button enabled", your power button now acts as the "OK" button.)
LINUX:
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot recovery

Back up your current ROM and now we can proceed to installing the new ROM:
1. Download the ROM and put it on the SD card
https://rapidshare.com/files/1930284977/Pirate2_0.zip
http://www.putlocker.com/file/BC57D931E6DCECC3

2. Boot into recovery mode again and do full wipe/factory reset

3. Install the ROM from SD card and after that reboot

4. When ROM finished booting, wait to everything upgrade and update and then the tablet will shut down

5. Power on device and update all system apps from Google Play store, you should have a shiny new ROM on your device now!

FOR LINUX USERS ONLY:

To get the device to be recognized by Linux, you need to add this to you udev rules:
Code:
#nano -w /etc/udev/rules.d/91-android.rules

SUBSYSTEMS=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0x12d1", MODE="0666"
SUBSYSTEMS=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0x18d1", MODE="0666"

Save and exit, restart adb and it should be recognized.

What threw me for a loop is in fastboot, if you "fasboot devices" you get:
???????????? fastboot

Don't worry, this seems to be normal and it still works.

I just updated the hosts, seems RapidShare is giving problems to some users.
