Lordy... How is that racist? The quota plan is arse front thinking and SARU's insistence on it is the reason only Coetzee considered even taking the job. He's not going to do terribly, he won't win a world cup though, he'll do alright and have a good time doing it because he's not gonna fight SARU.

Even those who over looked black players instead call players from retirement, didn't win the world cup or tri-nations / rugby championship.

I think he is a good choice, quota system or not.
If not for him it would be Ackerman, but he won't be leaving the Lions anytime soon

As much as I dislike Allistair, let's see how he goes. I was optimistic when Heyneke was appointed and he seriously disappointed me.

When Snorre was appointed, everyone also complained and his track record is not that bad actually when looking at the stats. We could possibly say he was robbed of a RWC trophy by a certain ref. One could argue that he took over a winning team, but is it his fault? If anyone of us was in the same position done anything differently?

I don't agree with quotas and whatever nonsense is forced on sport. Let's hope that Allistair can do something positive within the stupid limits set by the powers that be.

My view is that if SARU do not implement a professional model, we will never be able to complete with NZ on a regular basis. I.e. centralized contracts, etc. I still feel that we should pick local players only. If players abroad is looked at, their should be certain criteria, for example played 50 tests and / or 100 Superugby caps.

he couldn't get the stoermers to take that extra step from finalists to winners in super rugby. for this I don't like him. if you cant get a team that kicked ass all season over the line in a final then you have no business stepping into what should be the highest level.

I hope he proves me wrong.

Sure, but not a lot of coaches can claim that, only HM in SA built a team that one, Ludeke maintained them for a while. Ackermann looks like he is starting to build a good team, but it is still early days. But he also had his critics. AC did get the stormers there, and in his tenure he was the most "successful" SA coach, he also got their first CC in 9 years and again 2 years later. They have also played in the CC final 5 times the last 6 years.

The only other coach that stepped over the line is Ludeke if you want to go that way.

Having Allister Coetzee as coach is fine in my opinion. Not the best but he certainly has the qualifications.

However, have any of you heard about the possible backline coach? Apparently it's going to be the current Kings backline coach who has barely had any experience coaching let alone top flight coaching!

Hell, I really do hope AC gets a better deal than Pdivvy - most South Africans (lemme not generalise, many) complained and bitched and moaned and never got behind him. IMO, it was less that Bryce Lawrence Goat Fücker and more the unsupportive crowd back home that undermined our 2011 campaign.

Hahahaha :D

People who thought we were *** under Meyer are in for a moerse surprise.

So glad I don't watch this politicised toss any more.
