New tablet PC to take on Apple iPad

Looks like another JooJoo to me. Half baked interface on top of shiny tech.

Whoa that Helmut Hoffer von Ankershoffen fella looks JUST LIKE DENNIS QUAID.

All this does is drive the sales of the Ipad... tablet PCs are said to be the future.
So if all the manufacturers now follow Apples lead, Apple becomes the "inventor" and the Ipad (with Apples brand loyalty) becomes the best seller.

Tablet PCs have been out for a while, what Apple did was introduce a multi-touch screen, something that other manufacturers are going onto quickly.

I'm looking forward to the HP Slate

The problem with any competitor is they have to be running ARM to compete with the iPad's slimness and battery life. Atom is nowhere close in that respect. You get a much thicker tablet with way less battery life.

Then Apple also have excellent screen technology and touch-screen responsiveness, and a good OS. To compete I believe someone needs to make a good ARM based tablet running Android.

Actually Tegra2 is the best present competitor to iPad's cpu I believe. You can get 20 hours of 1080p video out of a normal size tablet battery.

ATM i'm all about Notion Adam Ink. I don't care about any other tablet on the market unless it has PixelQI.

Not bad but I wonder how much it will cost? Also what is the difference between PixelQI and eInk?

Oi it lost my post again...

No price expectations yet but they have confirmed it'll be comparable to the iPad or cheaper. Just ironing out the wrinkles with Flash support before releasing it fully.

PixelQI allows the user to switch between normal backlit LCD mode and transreflective e-ink mode on the fly. So you can choose to use it as an ebook reader, and it'll be as good or better than e-ink, or as a normal lcd-based tablet. Absolute genius.

Check out the pics - you can see it going between normal and e-ink mode.
