New The PC Build Thread

That BSOD was just in windows with Steam running, there was no game loaded. This morning, 2 Speed Way tests run, one restarted my PC, the other just went out and said failed.

Using my old RAM only, 3 Speed Way tests of 20 loops passed so far. I will be testing throughout the day.
What was the new RAM?

Old RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB DDR4 3200 (Testing at stock 2133)

New RAM - G-Skill Aegis 2x16GB DDR4 3200 (Testing at stock 2133)
Oh yeah the 48GB :-) I couldn't remember if it was your setup. Sadly mixing and matching RAM can indeed cause issues, I think myself, Rayne and Wizard did point that out.

Yeah, after that I removed the old RAM, and it's been happening with only the new RAM, whether using XMP or not. So far with just my old RAM, no crashes have happened.

Did you put the new memory in the same slots as the old? So you did a like for like swap? As you need to ensure if you're only running two sticks that you're only populating the correct slots, like 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.

Yes. New RAM I put in Slots 2 and 4, same as where the old ones were. I should put DLSS back on in Red Dead 2 with just my old RAM and see what happens lol.

Sounds like it might be a RAM issue not a GPU issue.

This is my thinking as well now. I have had faulty RAM before that was brand new. Bloody threw away the packaging for this set so I wonder if Wootware will replace it. I will take a RAM problem a billion times before a GPU or PSU problem.

How long ago did you buy the RAM? if it's in 30 days should be able to replace it.
Could also look at getting equal sticks
4 of those give you 64GB and the pricing is really decent.

Have you checked your motherboard's QVL list to see if it supports your memory (officially)?

    • Supports 1866/ 2133/ 2400/ 2667Mhz (by JEDEC)
    • Supports 2667/ 2800/ 2933/ 3000/ 3066/ 3200/ 3466 MHz(by A-XMP OC MODE)
  • Dual channel memory architecture

Honestly for that price I might just get it and not bother returning this. I can try anyway, but I dont want this same RAM again lol.

RDR2 bench has just passed with DLSS on with my old RAM.

Nope he means the QVL supported memory here
Which your motherboard doesn't support this AEGIS
F4-3200C16D-32GIS
But it does support the following
F4-3000C16D-16GISB

You need to check your RAM model number and see if it's listed here:

It should still work but may not necessarily overclock.
