Gamers Nexus reporting on the Deepcool sanction:

Very interesting, so Deepcool has been selling to 2 companies that were already on the sanctions list and that's why they got sanctioned.
Also a System Integrator telling GN that they are outright going to destroy all their Deepcool inventory , ouch that has to hurt.

Talk about shooting themselves in the foot, just to virtue-signal...

Even worse... it will make other prices rise to compensate for the destroyed inventory.

Since Deepcool haven't released a statement, they are most likely engaged with the US on the matter. Either they manage to get themselves redesignated, or they are allowed to re-establish themselves as a new business in the USA. I did read some time ago that some European nations will honour the US sanction.

I don’t think Deepcool is going away. It is only really their US consumers which is screwed until the matter is resolved…

We should be okay. I don't think the sanction will impact us.

The public will likely never know what was sold to the sanctioned Russian companies, but I did check and almost all PC brands are still sold in Russia. As Gamers Nexus said, it is that Russia's economy is designated as an economy supporting their war in Ukraine.

Anyhow, this is all I have to say on this matter. The ball is in Deepcool’s court to make it right and or convince the Americans otherwise.

Yeah it won't impact us but If anything shouldn't this just make Deepcool cheaper for everyone else in the short term?
Another System Integrator said they have stock that was on the way via Ocean Freight and will not be paying for it or using it.
So Deepcool is likely is sitting with a lot of extra inventory that they were planning to sell in the US but now can't, their only option is to drop prices and push that stock into other markets.

I like my pc cases the way I like my women - big, cold and heavy.

For ordinary use, I agree. I won't pack the Mood with 'heat'. For a media case it is neat, best to install an APU.

My current recommended case is the Montech Sky Two GX.

Nice one, I also recommend that. My current is also a Montech. Montech AIR 903 MAX Black RGB

Not a bad price either, and it looks and feels solid. It also comes with 4 fans, 2 dust filters and a 6 port fan hub.

The Air 903 MAX is a nice case; it's next iteration will likely have mesh in the side panels on the bottom. That intake area helps with cooling a GPU, also assists with vertical mounts.

I have enough cases now. Should I build another PC I will get the Sky Two GX, because it is a nice workstation case, though the 903 can also mount "E-ATX" motherboards.

Is there a reason you feel you need 64GB of RAM? Beyiond video editing or some other applications, 64GB is overkill for most users.

It's a superior experience.

You can just minimize whatever games/programs you use, no need to close x to free up memory to run y.

It's great for the kind of person who has hundreds of tabs open in Firefox and wants to do the same thing with the taskbar! :p

Deepcool has responded to the sanctions. I haven't seen the statement, but it is broken down into sections giving their perspectives which is summarized by some news outlets.

In short, they agree that they have sold product to the two sanctioned Russian entities, but argue that the two entities were not on the US sanctions list at the time the product was sold to the two entities.

IIRC, and I am under correction, the two entities were listed last year in Q3?

What can be gathered is that Deepcool is engaged in an appeal process with the USA.

AMD X870E & X870 AM5 Motherboards To Launch On 30th September, USB4 Support & Upgraded Designs

So not August... September is still a way to go. I think AMD is holding it back, not necessarily to coincide within the same window as the X3D launch, but also possibly keep it close to the DDR5 CUDIMM launch. Though this memory already exists, it is not being demonstrated. The standard has been established back in January already. I am curious whether this could be key to Zen 5's huge gains in some tests?

More segmentation, I see - dunno if it's necessary unless the 800 series boards are going to be even pricier than the 600 boards. There's already overlap in pricing between A620 and B650 boards with A-series not even having PBO or under-volting. Even the cheapest, most under-powered B650 boards offer better value imo than an A-series board so the A-series doesn't make sense in the DIY space.

Not all 600 series boards are discontinued either, and will still be shipping with the 800 series on the market. Price...

What build would you guys recommend for about 20k pref AMD excl Monitor and PSU. Still have a Super Flower PSU floating about.
