New The Times website

The site was pretty crappy before, but it is even worse now. Looks like a poor attempt at link baiting.
And what's with the OTT padding on everything? There's just too much white-space including the disastrous line and paragraph spacing. Makes it hard to read.
Where exactly is the headline news?
Go ahead, hide your soon to be revenue stream at the bottom of the page and restrict it to the the subscribers - the people who are least likely to need to read it online since it is delivered into bed.
So why don't I get an access code if I buy at the newsstand?
 
new site is ***, old site was much better. Also they now want to charge for content, I would pay them in the region of R20-25 pm for access to the site. Perhaps even R10 more if they print the back page honeys phone numbers.
 
Same with News24... their old site was much better before the re-vamp.

This Times website is now similar to that new News24 site... everything is too spaced out and hard to find.

At least they got rid of that stupid revolving news banner that kept changing before you could actually read anything.

Oh well... at least IOL still has a very nicely organised and readable site.

Huh?

It doesn't ask me for any access code - I'm not a subscriber, nor did I buy the paper this weekend. I checked the news, multimedia and opinion sections of the site.

And (I turned Adblock off to check) the advertising is reasonably restrained. It's all down the right column. All the news is front and centre, as it should be.
 
:( A step backward, sadly. Whilst it has been polished and freshened a bit, I am less likely to look around to find the articles I need to see.
 
New site sucks!

:) The old site had a familiar logic to it. The new site just sucks. :sick:
They just lost another viewer/reader. :p
