New capping software is in place and ready to be implemented at midnight, WBS employees have egerly been testing it and I'm told it works this time. I'm not sure if this means you can download as much as you want at 64kbit as per the agreement or if they still suspend accounts, that remains to be seen but they are confident in thier capping ability with this software.

hmmm..well maybe if i can login to my account it will work....and why cant they activate it now...they obvoiusly have people working there all night setting up the new software and monitoring it once it's activated ...

i think the peopel doign the account re-activation are the day shift helpdesk people

dunno, if my account wasn't working at 19:10 and working at 20:40 (i was at a friends place till then) I would think that they're busy re-activating accounts.

However, I overheard Satan asking the techie who checked up on my bandwidth usage say "is he one of the people under 10 gig?"

So I reckon they are only re-activating people under the 10 gig mark? Dunno

I'm still peeved about his comments of "why dont you just buy more bandwidth" THATS WHAT THE 64k THROTTLED IS FOR YOU DUMBASS.

But anyway...

yeah I heard the same thing, apparantly over 10Gb you cannot reactivate and must wait till may, but heres the thing, JasonH is one of those people, he paid for his GB, it shows up on his account but he still can't dial in. Something is fishy as hell

Now this is really dumb.

Problem - Bandwidth manager not working. People "abusing" network.
Solution - Fix bandwidth manager.

All makes sense.

So where did disconnect your users and piss everyone off fit in???

At this point, I'd be wary of any stories about 'suddenly appearing new throttling software' - as at 1pm there, they were still generally saying that a 'new' 64k throttling method 'might' be available by the end of the month.
And then saying that the current 64k throttle 'wasnt working'-
And then saying 'It WAS working'..

They're clearly - at management level anyway - having a lovely time and enjoying the confusion of customers, as well as the quick cash injection they got today from X number of users, who had to pay them again today for the service they'd already paid for.

ok i shoudl mention i heard this from sihen (dylan) and reefer, both employees and both were currently testing the software with a special capped account

Under 10GB FFS!! It's thier scwered up Monitoring system, now we get ****..i was getting 10-20KB Capped in Du Meter, just watching it burst up and stuff.

And what happned if we are downloading @ 7Kb/Sec constantly for the whole month It's abot 25Mb/Hour /// 600Mb a day * 31 days = 18.6GB!! more than i've done....Think about that WBS!!

thing is, what happens if you and/or me do our usual thing, set stuff to download..

when the current b/w is 'used up' - is it going to mean disconnection again, or what?

I think IBurst owe everyone a very clear statement on this, as I dont think anyone wants to go through the 'disconnected - struggle, beg and pay to get reconnected' thing again..

Either they have software to throttle, and people can finish their cap and autoswitch to slower downloading, or its the 'pay and pay and pay or have no internet' scam continuing..
