Hey MyBroadband, first of all, im not a gamer. I have a xbox which i have probably played 6 times in the past 2 years, and so decided to let my live lapse.

I do enjoy a bf4 game every now and then, and so I am contemplating buying a gfx card for my PC rather. Currently i have no card, running onboard, and i have no idea where to start looking. Once again, this card will probably play 4 hours of bf in its life, so i dont want to spend a **** load of cash on it.

I was looking at the gigabyte R7 240, i see takealot has it for 970, will this suffice?

Here is the rest of my PC specs.

Intel Core i5-2400 3.10GHz
8 GB RAM
Windows 10
4x HDD (3x1TB,1x2TB)
Power Supply came with coolermaster case, its a 450w, which i probably also will have to upgrade?

Any help, suggestions and free cards will be appreciated

Thanks!

Just get a decent GPU and you will not have to worry about gaming issues going forward. You have a solid CPU and enough RAM. Get a nice GFX card like maybe a R9 270 or R9 290 and you won't need to bother with a GPU again for at least 4 years or so.

Edit: O and yes, upgrade the PSU :p
