New TV

Hey guys

I am looking into getting a bigger TV. Currently I have a 42inch LG 3D LED TV. I want a bigger tv.

Isn't series 5 really old? Is it a good set is it good value for the cash 8grand for a 50inch isn't bad

We basically only use the HTPC and ps3 (Netflix) on the current tv set and that will be the same on the new TV. No DSTV or Top TV or sabc or OVHD.

We don't need 3D I can't remember the last time I watched a 3D movie at home.

Think BMW ... you get a 1986 3 Series, a 1999 3 series and a 2012 3 series.

Similar to the Samsung, expect they do it every year. The letter before the series represents the year ... A = 2008, B = 2009 ... F = 2013 ...

So what do you think about the TV. Is it a decent buy? Or can I get more bang for my buck

I think the LG is a 42LW4500 it's quite old now, maybe 2 or 3 years old

Wouldn't it be better to wait a few months and either purchase a 4K2K set or get a discounted 1080p set. A 39 inch 4K2K set currently costs about $550 in China. I am sure that Hisense will start selling them over here quite soon.
