Twitter says its users fired off more than 15,000 tweets per second when Spain scored its fourth goal in Sunday’s European Championship final, setting a sports-related record on the social networking site.

I wonder how many status up dates there were on facebook and the responses to them.

As for Obama and other celebrities like Pele tweeting, it is very likely that they have a whole team of people tweeting, fb'ng and Pinterest'ing for them.
