Hi people, I need to get new tyres for my vehicle.
Currently I have Continental ContiSportContact, 205/40R17 on my fiesta st. They came with the car when I purchased it 2 years back and are actually quite noisy from my experience.

I want something quiet, with some good specs.

Current options are something from Goodyear, the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo, Michelin Pilot Sport 3 (Reading a lot of good reviews about these)

Anybody with some experience on tyres?

I have Michelin Pilot Sport 3's. They are quiet on smooth roads. They are loud AF on cement / rough tar roads. I think part of the blame falls on my car though.

Kumho on my Merc runs quiet and smooth as Ockies bottom on tar or cement. I wouldn't recommend Dunlop or Goodyear after changing to Kumho.

I would advise against the V patterned tyres. Those start off quiet, give it some mileage and then you start hearing it.

True. Go for the straight pattern tyres. The V pattern gets uneven wear - from personal observation.

Michelin PS3 is a brilliant performance tyre. Be aware that you won't get great mileage out of them. And they are costly. In my size (225/40/18) they are around R2700.

I prefer the Bridgestone Potenza RE002. Slightly less grip than the PS3, but still a great performance tyre. They are around R1500 and I generally get about 30 000km from the front set.

I had Nexen tyres on my Audi A4 Quattro. I was very happy with them and they are easier on the budget as well.

I replaced the standard (expensive) dunlops on my polo gti with michelins when they were worn, was very happy with it.

The Michelin PS3 and Goodyear Eagle F1 are the best you can get. Have had both and would definitely buy again (either one).

Have continental sport contact 5s on the amg right now. They're great.

Bridgestone RE002 for me as well. It is very affordable for what you get. Next time I'll probably buy them again if I can't find affordable, comfortable runflats.

+1

Currently have the goodyear eagle f1.Next will be the Michelin PS3

Goodyear Eagle F1’s were the last set on my GTI and I was quite happy with them.

But has the much cheaper Achilles 2233’s before that and I can’t say they were any worse.

Avoid 2233s.

The sidewalls crack. Had it on 3 different tyres on 2 cars.
