New tyres

Also heard excellent things about the YOKOHAMA ADVAN NEOVA (Cant remmember the exact model ) .I know 2 people that run them on a seriously modified audi S3 and Golf R.

Avoid 2233s.

The sidewalls crack. Had it on 3 different tyres on 2 cars.

Interesting. Never had this happen and I think I went through about 6 of them over 90,000km or so.

Particular size/profiles maybe?

I currently have Hankook Ventus Prime 2 on the front, Michelin PS3s on the back. 225/45/17.

The Michelins handle slightly better than the Hankooks, especially in the wet, but I reckon I'll be getting at least double the life out of the Hankooks, after 15,000km they still look like new. I'll be rotating front to back soon and reckon I can squeeze about another 10,000km out of the PS3s for a grand total of around 30,000km. After that I'll be replacing them with another pair of Hankooks, just can't beat that price/performance ratio IMHO.

I’m On Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3’s. Don’t know much but they are better than the SAVA tires I previously had on. Get the ones recommended for the car.

Toyo.

It’s 2018, I don’t understand why people support the local rip off brands in this day and at.

Nexen is okay for an appliance but it’s dry grip is completely crap.

I had hankook for a few years until TWT tripled prices, then moved to toyo for the last 5 years. 265 50 19 at R2k is a bargain, compared to R5k for the Michelin equivalent. And wet and dry grip is excellent. Only a fool would pay more for the same.

Bridgestone RE002 for me as well. It is very affordable for what you get. Next time I'll probably buy them again if I can't find affordable, comfortable runflats.
Michelin PS3 is a brilliant performance tyre. Be aware that you won't get great mileage out of them. And they are costly. In my size (225/40/18) they are around R2700.

I prefer the Bridgestone Potenza RE002. Slightly less grip than the PS3, but still a great performance tyre. They are around R1500 and I generally get about 30 000km from the front set.
I've got potenza re003 on mine. Brilliant tyre for the price

The ST corners well and unfortunately eats the front tyres. A soft tire will not last long. The Michelins are get for rear wheel drives cars as you get more mileage outta them with rwd.

Bridgestone should be a good choice. They are slightly harder tyre but grip is almost the same as the Michelin. Price wise they win.

You will not notice the difference between the bridgestone and the michelin on your car as you cannot generate the lateral loads.

My pirellis gave me 20 000km on the scoob. bridgestone RE 001 gave me more than 45000km.
