Certain factors such as device placement and interference from man-made structures and obstructions, weather conditions and vegetation growth may prevent your router from connecting to 5G. In these instances, your device will fallback to 4G LTE-Advanced, with speeds up to 300Mbps.

Yes it says it will fallback to LTE-Advanced but it looks like only two 5G routers are supported so no normal 4G router will work

Fsck I wonder if I must try this. Before I got the 2TB Telkom deal I tried Afrihost MTN LTE and it was absolute kak. I am in coverage on the 5g map and just wonder how the experience will be. Any thoughts?

Is this tower locked? Can I move it around from one site to another?

I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with the Pure LTE package. Our Telkom LTE packages are not tower locked.

I know i am currently on one of your 2 TB Telkom packages. I am asking in general if anyone knows whether the Axxess 5G packages are tower locked. @Captain Axxess ?

Good Day

Yes, our current 5G package is Fixed / Tower Locked.
After having a bad experience with MTN LTE in my area, is there any correlation between the LTE and 5G service? I had poor speeds on MTN's LTE network, how sure can I be that I won't have the same issues on the 5G network?
I have coverage for both.

Good Day

The MTN Fixed 5G service is on a different band to MTN Fixed LTE so you won't experience the same issues on 5G as you would on Fixed LTE.

With the bad experience I had with MTN LTE in my area would you or anyone suggest I take a chance on the 5G offer? Does your 5G package only work in the router you are selling or any 5G router?
