New VOIP forum: Your feedback needed

Hi folks

There has been a request that we open a dedicated VOIP forum. It is currently a hot topic in the telecoms industry, but is there enough interest to validate a dedicated forum?

Can you please give your views regarding such a new forum.

Most threads I have seen have not been about VoIP as much as they have about the viability of said protocol on the various offerings.

Maybe I'm wrong though..
 
I am in 3 minds about this & they are all arguing with the mind that is writing this now...will have to knock the other 3 out so I can give it some thought...

Isn't there a user here with a forum that exists already. Seem to remember someone punting one in his sig

There is indeed a VOIP forum, but here I am simply talking about a single 'section' under 'Other Internet Related Discussions'.

It would be me :) punting it in my sig, I will speak to RPM, as I have no intentions to advertise on my forum, and would apprecite all your guys input on the fourm.
 
I think a VOIP discussion here will be good. As there are already existing discussions with regards to other wireless technologies.
 
The more options the better - VoIP forum = good idea
lets not skimp with diversifying what myadsl has to offer :)

I support it.

The international voipforum does an excellent job in the broader context of things. This is maybe where ic's 2nd and 3rd minds come in.
 
IMO it is a significant technology for the future and I am betting it will become a part of most people's lives in the next 5 to 10 years. It will also become one of the primary uses of broadband, so...

Create the sub-section...

If it will not impact on our main cause, I can see no reason not to include it.

Although I don't use VOIP as yet, I think we absolutely should have a VOIP section.
 
Ok, I have managed to knock out my other minds that keep squabbling, and IMO we should have a separate VoIP forum as suggested by RPM - under "Other Internet Related Discussions", if anyone wants to know about Asterisk & FXO/FXS PCI cards we can just refer them to VoIPForum.co.za, or forumites can get really technical in the new MyADSL VoIP forum if they choose...:)
