I have noticed WOW players get really silly about this, if you are happy to pay Blizzard for a complete experience and have done so for four years spending thousands of your hard earned cash then good I have no problem with you. I also have no problem with the people who create servers of their own, Warcraft runs in South Africa in the same way, I can play on there with no valid CD Key, I hope you report them, as well as Diablo 2 played on there with a copy I downloaded. Not to mention the games that happen using Hamanchi, games like C&C can be played no problem without a CD key.

This seems to not really be about your morals but rather the fact that people are pretty smart monkeys. They are not illegal; no law enforcement group in any part of the world will arrest you for hosting one. Is it against their terms and conditions? Yes it is, but it is not illegal in the eyes of any judge, proof of this can be seen in the fact that many of the very big servers in Europe and the USA have been running for 3 years or more. I think it is very important that breaking the conditions of something does not immediately make it an act that can be prosecuted. So logging a complaint is a silly thing to do as you have no leg to stand on, plus looking at a place like http://www.cybergames.co.za/ which has been around for as long as I can remember 5+ years, and who SELLS pirated goods I really and truly doubt no one gives half a crap that some company somewhere called Blizzard has some rule book on what you can and can’t do with the client. Same thing with gold sellers and many other things that will always be around, it is part of the net as are the MP3s you have, the movies you trade with eachother, and the games you "Try" before you buy. Get off your high horses.

Yes well it all started with me commenting on how segragating the emu server lot isn't very helpful seeing as though if you have 50 emu servers in SA, how many guys you going to get to play? And line speed etc.... but ye... lols

You are really not that bright are you? In order to determine how the games mechanic works you have to REVERSE items of said game in order to determine such things, point in case being the packets that are sent from the client.

And in order to see these packets you need to use a sniffer, and once you have collected your packets you need to determine what they mean.

What really amazes me is how respect for copyright law and the concept of paying those who render a service, is lost on the average south african. You moan about crime in your country, about hijackings and murders and theft when you or your ilk becomes the victim, but believe you have some God-given right to steal from others yourself, if it'll save you a buck.

It's simple, blatant, in-your-face and don't-give-a-f_ck hypocrisy. People like you are EXACTLY the reason people like Blizzard DON'T set up any official servers in the region.

Something like that, yes. We do what we have to do to get to the top in this country.

And it's not just South Africans. It's any free-thinking individual with a brain. But I wouldn't expect you lot to understand. Hell; 90% of this forum seems stuck in the 1970s. How you yearn for the good old days when 'everyone had their place' - is that it?
