Ok, so I decide to start up WOW on my notebook at the office. Then I see a new 40Mb patch needs downloading. So I think cool, i'll download it at work, so when i get home, I have it.

Well when I start the downloader, AVG starts popping up all these warnings. Now I've never had a problem with AVG doing this before. So to be safe I have cancelled the download.

Has anyone else had issues like this with AVG or another Antivirus?

Nope you should just add WOW downloader to the antivirus group so it does not block it. I installed it this morning and its working fine for me

Yea, or use nod32. IMO it's the best anti virus there is, not bulky, runs quick wherever and is cheap.

And no, the patch was 100% correct.... just don't download from untrusted sources (like websites)

nope never had any problems with avg and the wow auto-patcher.

Yeah, it picks it up as a generic downloader - had the same thing from AVG. I just ignored it, since it picked up prior patch downloaders that I had already used. The patch downloaders are basically a small embedded dedicated torrent client, that's all.
