Newb quezzies

Hi ya'll

Just love reading through all the threads and lookin at the terminology you guy's use, we'll I'm a complete newb so tryin to make sense of it all is sometimes hard, is there somwhere a gloss that explain most of the terms used and what's meant by them? F instance I'm battling to understand what adsl ,hsdp, broadband, ram, processing speed, etc,etc.

Iwent and bought what ( hopefully) was good intent from a mate a pc with the following (reading off the invoice here)
Intel Core 2 Duo E 4500 2.2 ghz
1024 mb DDR667 PC 5300 X 2
Maxtor 120Gb HDD 7200 Rpm ATA 13
Biostar 8400Gs 256 Mb PCI E
Soundblaster audigy

And I still dont know what the H i've got

Is it a reasonable set up?

Appreciate any input

It is reasonable, except the graphics card if you're going to be playing newer games.

What did you pay? New?

Thanks, bought new, pd 5700, incl new case, bit defender inetrn, & Vistabussiness, cant help but get a feeling I paid too much?

Playing splinter cell chaos theory so I guess the g/card is ok for now, what should I upgrade to for newer games?

Just upgrade the graphics card (BioStar 8400GS) and I don't think you paid too much, as Vista is worth about 1k I think...

Still very slow on the net, dialing up on a N 70 through Cell C, need to upgrade, any worthwile packages to suggest, unfortunately don't know enough as I said in the original post

Browse around in this forum and you'll learn quite a lot. Do searches for terms you're unfamiliar with. Google and wikipedia are your friend.
