Howzit all

I'm new year so I'm pretty sure this question has been asked.

My wife can upgrade her Nokia 6111 in this month. I've always been a Nokia fan but since using the N73 I've almost had enough. So the question is...
what's the Nokia Navigator like? How good or k@k is the Samsung G800? Is the Sony Ericsson worth looking at? Are there come backs on the handsets?

I'm twisting her arm to swap phones so this is a very important decision. ;)

I would prefer an HSDPA camera phone.

Thanks a lot
Donald

On a serious note my suggestion would be to check out a website like www.gsmarena.com. Lots of unbiased reviews of most phones available.

This forum is great for throwing ideas around but a lot of it is influenced by the phone that the person owns or even worse by fanboys! :)

I currently have a Nokia N95 and would therefore recommend any phone using Symbian60 V3 software as the applications appear to be limitless on these, but as stated I am biased. Decide what is most important to you in a phone- the camera, video, music player etc - and then move on from there.

I think the Nokia Navigator is great. Pretty much the same as the Nokia N73 except for the GPS and HSDPA capabilities.

I know we are talking for the OP here as he seems to not be around but the problem was his post seemed to insinuate he was not happy with the N73 so that comparison may not sell it to him.

I have had a Samsung D900 and now the Nokia N95 and they cannot be compared. The software available for Symbian is incredible. I know other brands use Symbian now too though. Don't they?

Thanks for the advice, guys. Sorry about the new year / here thing - must learn to drink less of the red wine.

I'm not happy with my N73. It has developed loads of software glitches even after I updated the firmware. The N95 is great but it's bulky. My boet has the new SE890i and even though I've never liked Ericsson phones, it's damn nice.

Leaning towards the Navigator it seems ... for now.

Donny, that is a problem I tend to find, all new phones look/feel/seem nice. From my experience you really need to get one that does what you want it to. Sounds silly I know but I have taken more than a cursory glance at the SE walkman phones before when trying to decide because they look and sound cool but then always realise that I hardly ever use my phone for music so what is the point of me getting a "music phone".

I can tell you now that the GPS on my N95 has proved invaluable in the 6 months or so I have had the phone. No more asking directions. So the navigator should be good for this too.

Last I heard, the Nokia Navigator had a mass recall in the UK.
