Newbie SUSE Linux 10.

I need some help please. I've installed SUSE Linux 10, but with my first logon it won't start. I've typed in my username and password which seemed to be OK, but the next line is confusing because it's waiting for a command and i do not know what to type in. The line looks like this: username@linux-syag: >

I've Googled the problem and found help on a Linux forum. I've installed Suse with the Gnome option, and that is what it was looking for. Typed in "gnome" and it showed me that i have a display problem. So i typed "sax2" to configure the screen resolution and from there up to now it boots without problems.

you would need to enable XDM logon for it to autostart with gnome each time
