News Server Newb

Okay, ill admit it. Im a total news server newbie. Ive been using Torrents this entire month due to my Uncapped account, but next month I need to stick to Local Only 30GB accounts.

I got Grabit (is that okay - the free one?) instaleld it, and setup with is.news. blah blah.

Okay, firstly I dont know yet how to actually browse a list or find stuff, need to know that.

I went to newshost.za.net and found some stuff and added it. That works fine, downloading at around 200kb per second. Only three "jobs" or segments are downloading at once, can someone speed it up?

Also anything else I need to know bout getting the stuff I want easily and fast? Any info would be appreciated, if I need a different client, a paid client to download more or faster please give me that info.

Have a quick look here : http://newshost.za.net/newshost/nzb-guide.php set ur max connections to 5. You seem set newsgroup wise. Dont use the search in Grabit as its a waste of time, use www.newzleech.com to get some NZB's and then upload them onto Newshost.za.net so others can benefit and help cache the content. No u dont need a new app either! Happy downloading.

Ive done around 350GB this month on Torrents. Just dont have much else to download I want to use news servers for downloading weekly stuff next month.

int news servers = int bandwidth........so you need a uncapped to use it well....

I really like the speeds of the News Server for chaced files. Unchached is hopeless.

Is there anyways to get something chached over time? Like American idol for example which I guess aint that popular.

Why only 5? Surely the more connections, the faster the download?
