eish guys. ok so i've d/led a few files and everything is ok. BUT last night i d/led a movie and to my surprise, the files weren't all in RAR format as usual. im confused. i did the quickpar thing and it said everything was fine

MPG.001 or .001-0xx?

alliance-benchwarmers-xvid.011 <--- looks like that. under file type it says 011file

if the files have extensions .001 -> .0xx then it is -likely- a 7Zip file. Download "7 Zip" - google for it, easy to find.

let me know if it works.

hmmm i've d/led 7zip. i try extract and it just does 1 little 14mb file. then i select ALL of the parts and try extract and it tells me there is insufficient space (but i have 28gigs free)

7 zip has a file manager interface - are you using that, or are you doing the "right click, open with" type thing? My thoughts are that if 7zip does something, it recognizes the file, so it must be the right app = also, if you are selecting all the files and saying "open", it may be a memory compaint and not a disk space complaint?

aha true. if i go into its file manager and extract one of the files.... it only extracts that one. if i select them all i getr the "not enough space" error.

Did you download all the parts of the file?
.011 indicates that there are at least 11 part. (Probibly more, last files is smaller that the rest)First one will probibly be a .rar file or a .001 file.

if it is extracting one 14mb file, what is that file - a .rar?

It may be an over zealous compressor that has 7-zipped each rar file....

nah, when it extracts that one file it become the actual movie file.
spiderz, there are 49 of em. full movie, all repaired and stuff wif quickpar... i duno whats wrong

Let me PM you my e-mail address and send me that NZB file, then I can maybe have a look at it to see what you need to do. ;)

It sounds like the files might just have been split up and need to be joined together again. Try using a binary splitter/joiner utility to smack em all together.

I've downloaded files with .00n extensions before and QuckPar joined them up for me after verifying to produce a single .avi file - I wonder why it doesn't do it to these files?

it works!!! lol yay! i d/led the latest ver of winRAR and it just worked all of a sudden. tnx so much guys

I cant seem to connect to the IS news server, I have an IS openweb account. Do I have to setup my router to do something?
