Hi guys

I am receiving a large mount of news from INet and other sources. Anything that is relevant to the Internet and IT industry gets published on the front page, but some stories are either marginally relevant or has been published from another source. In these cases I usually publish the story under the relevant Category/Latest Headlines, but do not add it to the front page (as a main article).

Questions:

Do you find a wider range of news valuable?

Do you ever visit the separate Categories to see what is new there (not published on the main page)?

When do you see news as being old news (in hours or days please)?

Should I redesign the main page to more clearly display the separate news sections?

Any other comments/suggestions regard the news on the main page?

Any feedback will be of great value.

Regards,

RPM

I find the news to be old when I have finished reading it :).

Seriously though for members why don't you remove the news that we have read so we can always stay up to date.

I read the news under the categories occasionally but I don't find them very relevant, I guess that is the point.

I would move the categories up to the left of the page, only the links to the categories however not all the stories. Just like News24 :)

I hate to admit, but I hardly find time to read the articles linked by you in this thread, RPM! (I know, should MAKE time! :D) I normally glance through them, till I hit a couple of interesting words, then REALLY read the article. What I DO like, is when you create a link, add an excerpt of the most catching phrase, and add your comment as well! Might be a bit much work for you, but this way we know your feelings as well! :D

I rarely visit the front page. Instead I follow the links from the forum postings.

I love the front page, often interesting and informative articles there. I often read one of the articles and then google to find out more about it.

I read the front page every day first thing in the morning, Its like my newspaper, except I dont have to filter out half the BS to get to the sections I want to read about.

My only concern is that lately some of the articles seem to be repeating each other, or start of with something that seems new, and almost always branch off into a old story from 2 to 3 weeks ago

Great News

The news is what is keeping this MyADSL forum in perspective. It is on the issues at hand. What we are here for in the first place.
