News24, you dictators!

Dictators, cowards, ANC loyalists. This is how some News24 users described the website editors who announced on Tuesday that the comments section would be closed by the end of the week.

Well we know that farm has at least one drama llama.
 
Most ordinary people do not deserve a voice.
 
@RPM expect an influx of new users (those that know there is life beyond facebook and news24 that is).
 
Anybody who chooses to spew hatred and racism does not deserve a public forum to do so.

Goes for many here too.
 
There is still MyNews24/Twitter/Reddit/Blogs/Pinterest/Instagram etc etc. They even have better means of the digital circlejerking that occurs when someone makes an outlandish statement.
 
The comments sections of News24 articles were entertaining - but that's about it.

Was a mix of idiots and trolls.
 
I'm so disappointed in Mybroadband.
Should of posted the article with all comments disabled.
 
People seem to forget about the freedom of expression act, but in this case it may be abused...

You're free to express yourself but not necessarily using someone else's platform.
