He's got a point - as a designer you have to consider if you're going to try to accommodate the largest (lowest?) common denominator and IE still has the biggest market share. Personally I usually opt not to despite the numbers.
 
kilps : True, but I code to an accepted standard (IE). I love FF as a user, but as a developer I hate it. Until they start trying to get 100% IE support before whatever rubish w3c standard they wish to follow, I wont attempt to port the code again

Without standards we would probably still be using tables and white spacer images to get the desired effect. Just because MS is so big it doesn't mean that they can ignore an internationally accepted standard - MS is only one entity, almost everyone else accepts it.

Sure, but the more sites which follow standards the more MS will be pushed to support them ...
