Nexus 5X Screen Repair

Hi guys,

So i managed to drop my 5x and shatter the screen(the glass on top of the screen, not the lcd itself).
Bought the phone from Orange who have left the country, and no, LG SA doesn't do repairs.

Is there anyone/anywhere in Jhb that i can get this fixed?

Option 1 - DIY: you'll probably need a heat gun. Youtube can be of great help. However, you risk breaking the digitiser.
Do/Destroy it yourself

Option 2 - Take it to a foreign national owned shop that you trust in your area. They may not give a guarantee, but will be relatively cheap.

Biggest problem is part availability. Many repair shops won't keep the Nexus 5X screen unless some locally-available phones share that part. So you may have to buy a new screen from eBay, and then either install yourself, or take the part to a repair shop and let them do the labour.

Thanks, i should have mentioned that i did consider the DIY option, and the process with the heat gun is higher risk. Also, the screen itself is 2k and i only paid 4k for the phone, so doesn't make sense to spend the extra cash.

Best bet is the 'foreign national owned shop' :crylaugh:, will see what/if they can do.
