I'm surprised no one has mentioned this but the Nexus 5x can be had pretty cheaply from Orange:

Indeed my reaction also.

I just decided I'll deal with 16GB since I always have high speed internet at my reach for synching purposes.

LOL, I just noticed that it is on "promotion" now for R4,540.
Bought mine just a few days before I posted this at R4,300.
