Am i the only one who got all excited like a little child after i read this.
http://www.gsmarena.com/source_close_to_google_reveals_real_nexus_prime_specs-news-3239.php

According to our source, the device codenamed Nexus Prime is going to ship with Samsung's own chipset, with a blazingly fast dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. But wait, there's more.
On that chipset will also reside a powerful dual-core GPU from Imagination. We suspect it's going to be the PowerVR SGX543MP2, or in other words, the same GPU found in the iPad 2 (and quite probably on the iPhone 4S as well).
On the back, instead of the 5-megapixel snapper, our source claims, there's an 8-megapixel, full 1080p HD video-shooting camera with some sort of an improved sensor. As for the battery, expect a 2050mAh one (do we hear a whoa?), which should be good for a couple of days use without charging.

So who is going to be importing some of these bad boys :D.

So it will be an Iphone 4S, with a bigger screen ?

Lol that made me laugh.

The iPhone 4.. What a load of bollocks. All my buds have iPhones and I have had a Nexus S for a year. I wouldn't use an iPhone even if Apple paid me. All the new iOS 5 features have been a part of the Android experience since I got my Nexus.

I will definitely upgrade to the Prime. btw Ice Cream Sandwich should be announced with the Prime at Samsung event next week.

Have you seen its curve? Its revolutionary. The entire screen (and phone) is curved @ 12 degrees. And is OLED with 316dpi. So its a bit more than "an iphone with a bigger screen"

im really not an iPhone fanboy but the whole siri thing kinda has me very interested, if android had
a VPA or something built in that is simlar to Siri it would be the perfect OS.

I sure as hell hope thats a early build and its not really that slow.

Android has Voice Actions for Android for a while now.

And Siri was just an iPhone front end for Vlingo

You can get Vlingo client now for Android as well as other devices like BB, Windows Mobile and Symbian oh and they have Vlingo for iPhone 4 as well so even if Apple turned off Siri doesn't mean you have to upgrade to get it.

POSTPONED!!!!

http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/07/samsung-and-google-postpone-ice-cream-sandwich-and-galaxy-nexus/

Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced.

Hey hey hey, I'm an android fan too...it's just that apparent from the screen, the phone is pretty similar to the Iphone in terms of processor and gpu.. I was just being a little cynical of the "something big is coming" :p

Besides, what exactly does a curved screen add? The high density pixels I get though :p.

GPU? Considering it has 2 of the iphone GPU's :p.

A curved screen reduces glare. The curve is very slight and barely noticeable.

Doesnt look slow to me.

Look again closely. When he closed the widget draw to drop the widget he then pressed at 0:46 to go into the menu. The phone then seems to become unresponsive as it "Builds" the widget draw again only to spring back to life at 0:53

After that you can see the "lag" as if the phone seems very unresponsive.

I'm not sure if that's the phone or the guy not using the phone properly, pushing the wrong things. Hopefully it's fine though, we'll have to see when more videos come out.

I'm concerned about the size of the phone. The bezel at the top and bottom doesn't look any smaller than other Galaxy S phones despite the removal of physical buttons from the front.
My Galaxy S is already pushing the limits of size for one-handed operation.

I don't know, it does look damn awesome though. On one hand I want it bad but the size just worries me.

I am in the very same boat, the 4.3" on the DHD feels like it hit the limit in size for me, besides I have a tablet if I really need something bigger.

I am in 2 minds over the Note or the Nexus. May just go for the Note as I am after the big screen.

You cannot compare the Nexus to the iPhone 4S at all. As it stands the GS2 trumps the 4S.

The only thing the Nexus and the 4S share is the GPU. Same as iPad2.
Everywhere else the Nexus is streaks ahead.

I must admit the reason for the release extension made me see Google in a whole new light and actually like them a tad more.

I doubt Apple would have returned the favor.

Samsung and Google have decided to postpone the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event during the CTIA in San Diego, previously scheduled for Oct. 11. Under the current circumstances, both parties have agreed that this is not the appropriate time for the announcement of a new product. We would ask for the understanding of our clients and media for any inconvenience caused. We will announce a new date and venue in due course.

From Google:

We believe this is not the right time to announce a new product as the world expresses tribute to Steve Jobs's passing.
