Guys, quick question, I got this game the weekend.
Played quite a few races but one thing I've noticed is that there is NO cop chasing in this game, am I missing something?

Because all the radio ads keep talking about it being a game where you get to be chased by cops etc...

Maybe I haven't played too far but either way, can someone confirm!

played it a for a few mins, don't think there's cops in this game. at least not yet. seems like the entire game takes place at this race event over a weekend.

So the ads on the radio about being chased by cops (obviously form EA) is false advertising?

i don't know, i don't think they would go that far cos people will slaughter them. perhaps after all the main races are completed, then u get the cops. i don't know.

*sigh*

I need to know... but having said that, I hate the game.
It's bloody boring.

But if there is cops, maybe it'll improve... slightly.

ya i find the game pretty sh1tty. cars look like **** and going around corners are a nightmare. why don't u check out some reviews on the net? they will have info with regards to cops.

I shouldn't need too. the ads on the radio talk about cops... you'd hope there was some sort of 'quick match with cops' option but there isn't :( haha.

No cops in this version of the NFS series AFAIK, it is purely a track based racer.

The ads on the radio are misleading as they do imply that there will be cop chases like the previous 3 iterations of the game...

So who can we sue?!?!?!
I'm actually happy I downloaded this game because I was going to buy it, now I've downloaded it, seen it, hate it and can delete it.

I'm going to rather buy Crysis and Gears of War!

I've just filed a complaint to ASA about this!
EA are misleading the public with regards to the 5fm Radio ad.

Same here downloaded it.Played it a bit not very good just like the last few nfs that was released.Except for gfx the games gfx is pretty good but thats about it.
Am also glad I didn't buy this game.

I

Need for Speed ProStreet is a disappointing effort in a franchise that has generally been rather solid. It sort of feels like EA is starting over again, leaving the open-world aspects to other games like its own Burnout Paradise, but is seems like Black Box didn't know what to do with what was left. It could have still been a decent game had the cars driven well, but unfortunately their performance is shoddy. Car lovers will find something to like here due to the customization options, but Need for Speed has certainly seen better days.

This is from IGN's review. They gave it a 6.8.

Personally I think Most Wanted is still the best NFS game, I still keep going back just to get into cop chases.

Yeah, even after finishing Most Wanted it can still be fun going for a quick spin to see how manny cops you can take out.

It would have feen more fun if the cops had some funny lines over their radios. "He's turned around,,,hang on,,he's comming right for me,,,hellllpppp!!" lol and they should have tried to make a run for it when their car gets badly damaged so you can hunt them down.

Damn I miss Carmageddon :(

I'm interested to see how the drifting pans out, to be honest I'm quite happy to see the "drive to the next race" aspect fall away.

NFS is a shallow arcade racer trying to be something its not.

It does a pretty good job at the arcade racer angle, it's not trying to be a LFS type racer sim and I think majority of people will find the arcade racer alot more entertaining.

I really regret buying this game. No cops and the controls are ****. The whole thing feels really low-budget.

Driffting is quite decent though but not worth R300

LOL, this game I love because like many I expected and liked the sameness of the NFS series. However with Pro Street, NFS has grown up...

In General, save for NFS:Porsche, NFS has been far far too easy to drive (Underground1 was difficult for other reasons). The driving model in this version is by far better than anything else since the series started. It's not a perfect game, but learning how to drive properly really pays of, and driving like a cow doesn't. I suspect that's why many people dislike this game as far as the driving goes. It is no longer easy to win because you just have a more powerful car. Mistakes are costly in both money and in positioning, which I suppose isn't everybody's cup of coffee but I like it. Perfect balance between simulation and arcade racer

It handles the way it does, because it really is unfeasible to turn a corner at 160Km/h.
I will say its much more of a proper driving game than it is an arcade game and if you like your driving a little more cerebral but not simulation like, this is the best Need For Speed ever.

As for the cop thing, it was questionable then with NFS3 and it still is now and I'd rather race on the track than on the street anyway...

Lovely game this 8.5/10 for me and a R300 well spent. :)

A slight differing of opinion
