NFS: SHIFT

All Driver aids off. Ford Focus ST, two stage turbo, nitrous and 17" tyres. Could not be more real.

Man .. I just cant get drifting down :( I used to be so good at it in the othe NFS titles ?. And I learned that its no good to upgrade power and drive train without doing aero mods... Just power slide all over the place ;) (got to do a nice balanced upgrade with a little of this and little of that!)

yeah i knw, i havnt been able to do a single successfully drift either :(

Does anybody else get micro-stutter during races? I'll be sailing along at a nice 50fps, but when I get near a corner, the game will pause for half a second and drop a bunch of frames, then carry on smoothly again.

This must be the ATi issue.

Hi All,

Loving the game.. just a few questions about multiplayer.

1) Do you guys notice a bit of lag? Not in the way the game 'feels' online...but in how your opponents react/drive. I play with my friend, and I often watch him hammer into the side-walls... or totally flip out behind me... only to see that he's right on my tail 2 seconds later. When I ask him how he recovered...he says he's been in the racing line the whole time. Same thing happens to me... he'll laugh cos he thinks I've smashed, when I haven't. This also causes us to sometimes crash, even tho one of us is actually cleanly overtaking. Anyone else noticing it??

2) To fix this...it would be great to use the new LAN feature in patch 1... possibly over hamachi. (It will probably reduce the ping by keeping it all local - I suspect the lag comes from the fact that we're all connecting to EA in america or something). I can't seem to get the game to work over LAN on hamachi tho...any suggestions?

Thanks guys... this game is amazing... With the right tweaking and feedback, it feels as good as Dirt1. :) (I have a great config setup if anyone's keen...spent hours on it).

If the new patch includes LAN, then why do you need to use hamachi?

so over need for speed now:( they've messed up too many games:(

though probably not in the same line of thinking I do agree with you

need for a speed has always been more arcade, and that is the market base that they have built up..

so to do a 180 and go total simulation is kinda suspect, its a bit of a slap in the face for the loyal fan base.

why not just create a new series dedicated to simulation

Yea, cause your rig cant handle it mate :D

The Games is flippen awesome. I love it.

my pc can handle it good enough,i have all the graphics on high, the graphic aren't the prob, it the handling, but obviously, you haven't played a proper racing game be4...

Well, in order to use LAN, you actually need to be on a physical lan (it won't work over the internet. Hamachi allows you to set up a virtual lan, so that you can play "LAN" games on local speeds, rather than going "online" and suffering because we both have to connect to EA to play. I don't want to have to cart my rig to his house just to be able to play with decent pings.

If I am wrong, or if this is inaccurate, I apologise...but it's how I understand it...and I would LOVE to get it working. Currently, we can connect on hamachi fine...but can't see eachother using the new LAN feature. :(

And I find that in SA...the "online" pings are crappy.

That said tho....I'll re-post my original question in the hopes of getting an answer :) Please...
