Does ani one know if its safe to give out my credit card details to http://www.ngrcomputers.co.za/ when purchasing from them. its my first time buying from them and i need to know if my credit banking details are in safe hands!!!!!!!!!

ummmm NO ITS NOT SAFE :D anyway, i have never bought from them but im sure it is 97% safe as there are not 1000's of people on the forums bitching about it. Im not saying buy from then... as im in comp with them. But by all means, it should all be fine.

Hi kongwane

Thought i would pop in a quick note to let you and everyone else know that none of your Credit Card details are seen or given to ANY of the staff at NGR. Your details are entered directly into the Paygate system during the checkout process - and the number is ONLY released if the card is suspected to be fraudulent and ONLY to me as I follow up with the banks and relevant authorities. Paygate is not authorized to share any of the numbers in any other way! So please feel rest assured that your details are safe. We have been working closely with the banks and Paygate and have recently implemented a number of new security measures - a first for most stores in SA - which will make your shopping experience even better and safer!

As a further precaution i would recommend that you look for the following when considering a purchase at any online store :

When you create your profile, enter your delivery address or give out any information keep an eye out for the little padlock on the bottom right hand side of your browser. The URL should also read : "https://" meaning that the information is being transmitted via a secure connection! This is essential to keep your information private and you will find that ALL the major stores that actually respect privacy and your information will have it.

This would also apply while you are entering your Credit Card details.

Also look out for a physical address and landline number of the store. This is a good sign. Another is that their banking details match the stores name - this means that the store name has actually been registered with the banks.

Lastly look for accreditations from safe shopping sites like M-Web Safeshop or Sur E Tail (we are members) - the sites are reviewed and tested before being accepted.

This is generally what I look out for when buying online - as there are a few rather suspect stores out there. As long as all the security is kept in place and the store is up to date, you should not have any problems. Never ever enter your details especially your credit card details into a store with no pad-lock.

Hope this helps!

A friend of mine has bought from them and had a good experience, so I would reckon it's ok. ;)
