NHI war is just getting started

To be fair though, he isn't more qualified to make that statement than any of us.

The DA hasn't proposed a better solution, which they should be doing.
The current health system is on a one way trajectory
Corrected :
The current public health system is on a one way trajectory.
All gov wants to do is make teh private health care system cater for all the gimme gimme's

Why do they have to propose a better system ?
The current proposal is fundamentaly broken
Just fire everyone associated with the current system and hire competent non political people and then fix it

What does the future hold for us when there are all these types of wars raging while there is already a Civil War, in an election year?

Its way more complex a problem than that, but yes a good start.

The DA need to propose a new system because they need to convince people to vote for them.

The entire heathcare system.

No one can afford to pay for private healthcare and tax and then still make co-payments.

That's not true. If people shift their priorities, they can afford at least a decent level of private healthcare.

Co-payments are usually not a thing if you work within your plan's network. Moreso if you have gap.

You prioritise your healthcare first, then budget for everything else. The more you earn, the more you can look at increasing your coverage to a better plan.

The problem is people take their increases and focus on the wrong things first. Nothing is more important than your health...

Remember that 85% of the country does not have medical aid.

For you and I, yes we can shift priorities to make allowance for our medical care. There is a nice tax break as well to make it easier.
What worries me is the growing number of people I meet who have little or reduced medical aid. These are people I work with or parents we know from school.
things are so tight for them that they can't afford a basic level of medical aid.

To me a NHI would start by getting working people on a basic level of protection, with incentives and a cheap government assisted product.
I think most people think they can just go to a government hospital and it will be free. Its not free, you pay according to your means, so if you have a job it means you will have to pay something.
