there are alot of good players from africa in europe but they hardly the best.. a bit of a minority if you band them together with the 'best' players in europe..
Hey boys...come over to the rugby side, the water is nice and warm here![]()

We almost did not qualify for ANC(scraped through as 2nd best placed loosers), we didn't qualify for champions league, (Sundowns my team, have found it tough in the minor Confederation cup) Amaglug-glug are out of Beijing2008(they were hammered at home as well), top scorer in the league always comes from Zambia or somewhere else...Niang, Mbesuma, Katongo, there's basically nothing going right for us at the moment....
The best players in Europe come from Africa, but none of those come from SA!!!BTW, Mcarthy is not one of those top players!!!
Aggh, come on... Ronaldo and Torres... for a start I chuck in the heap then we look at Van Persie. What about the Italians I did not even try them.
SA are not delivering world class players. Africa produce some world class players and Europe stock world class players.
African players will not become world class if it was not for europan money is it not true?
But that does not explain the reduction in the number of English players every season, especially in the big clubs? Are they not good enough or are they too expensive?
I think it's a fundamental problem of quality. But why aren't there good players from England? Someone has to do something. It's not normal that a kid coming from South Africa or Brazil is better than those here. It's what I'm trying to do with the academy at Arsenal... and it's that area that Brooking has analysed fairly and objectively: he says let's bring up some English kids who are as good as those who come from abroad. Those young English players will be of a good enough quality as soon as I go and see the French under-17s and I say to myself, no I'm not going to take that player there, because I have an English boy who is under 17 and as good as him. But one of the beautiful things in sport is being able to say: 'Why shouldn't a kid who is passionate and talented - and born in Zimbabwe - have the chance to play with the best footballers in the world?' It would be an injustice.
I've been both a soccer player and a fan all my life and I support any sport when our country is playing.
But over the years, I have lost faith in or bafambla-bafambla squad.
Every time they will tell u that we r building a team blah blah.
I watched the Saturday u23 when they were walloped by the Ghanians 3-1 and of course the humiliating BB 3-1 loss to Zambia.
I have concluded that our country players just do not have what it takes to compete - I mean we have the best infrastructures in the continent but we get beaten by the likes of Zambia, which are one of the poorest countries in the world.
Did u see those Ghanians u23 boys (men). they just out-paces the SA team like pop corns in hot fire.
I think it boils down to the way we grew up. We are privileged to be South African and I guess we don't work hard enough to earn the place.
I also believe even th genetically modified and unhealthy/unnatural foods we eat. I mean those Ghanian boys were twice the size of e.g Leboganh Mokoena.
