Nikon vs Canon: Which do you prefer?

Oh, put on your big boy panties Sinbad and just either put in or stop whingeing. Do you disagree with that assessment of your contribution here to date?

I didn't actually RBP, but you're a complete twat with the way you've gone on here. Your contribution is nothing but a bunch of attention-seeking whining. And a *** photo.

Really, more name-calling and insults. What were you hoping for when you insulted me? Tears and agreement?

I've given a lot more here than a single photo and engaged with everybody who has engaged with me. Even you.

The engagement is off!

Take the test, see for yourself, let us know :) If you truly see no difference then the A/B test results should come back fairly evenly weighted.

Had a look at the vid - on the portrait test (where he shows 12 shots side by side) there is a clear difference between the photos but what was really interesting is that I scored exactly 50/50 :D

Wellll, maybe that just means you don't have a preference, but at least you did consistently see the difference that some on here have sworn doesn't exist objectively. That's the best progress we've made all day.

Have you considered anger or stress management? You're very quick to get angry about nothing, it really isn't healthy.

It's difficult to debate with someone you're scared might end up with an aneurysm or heart attack because they felt so badly insulted.

Calm down a little...

Oh no, I definitely had a preference - 50 percent of the pics I preferred the Canon shots and the other 50 the Nikon shots.

He did say that he shot the pics under different conditions though (ie each pair of pics shot under the same conditions but in 12 different settings/conditions using different settings for each setting albeit the same settings on each camera).

What that says for me is that the type of camera is irrelevant - it's the shot that counts - under certain conditions I preferred the Nikon shots, under others, the Canon shots.

I suppose that I could express the preference at a more granular level (eg in the beach shot with the sun behind the subject shot at a high iso, the Nikon was better, etc) but, yeah, who's got time for that...

Lol, you mean who's got time to actually be on-topic on this thread and actually determine and share what they feel the Nikon and Canon differences are?

Yeah totally agree, that'd be such a waste :P

Sigh, you're missing the point.

Say for instance I liked all the Nikon pics taken in scenarios 1 3 4 6 8 9, does that mean that I should purchase a Nikon to take pics when I am in those types of location, and use a Canon for the other locations? To answer my own (rhetorical ?), of course not.

You said that you prefer the Nikon 'style' of pictures - so what you're saying is that in the A/B test in the video, you chose ALL the Nikon pictures.

Fine graining the differences down to such a level of specificity doesn't help with the ultimate purchasing decision since neither camera is perfect in every context (as the results of the A/B test clearly demonstrate to/for me.)

Nope, I didn't choose all, but like the photographer in the video I did have a clear preference when they were all added up.

The clearer your preference, the more important it will be for you to purchase a camera from a matching ecosystem (or else you're always gonna be stuck editing all your pics).

That's useful consumer advice for this thread.
