Nikon vs Canon: Which do you prefer?

Do you want to keep digging that hole, or is it deep enough?

You're the one digging, only you can decide when it's deep enough for you.

Why don't you post a photo that's actually in focus, has decent definition and contrast, minimal flare and a reasonable subject next time? You're the expert with the degree in photography, surely you have many many better examples of this mythical Nikon colour cast?

So by saying that Nikon and Canon handle the same photo scenes differently from a colour perspective and I'm personally a fan of the Nikon way of doing things" it means that you're saying that you prefer the "untweaked" Nikon pic to the Canon pic given the same settings - I think that's a fair statement, albeit a subjective one - I think what others here are saying is that 'objectively' there is no difference.
Gee thanks, you're classifying my statement of my personal opinion as a fair statement of my personal opinion? :P

On the contrary, while it's subjective, I think you'll find it's also reasonably consistent between people. Again, there is a video in my original post here where there is a randomised A/B test of the same photos taken with Nikon and Canon, and exactly like the photographer in the video finds, you'll probably find that you automatically tend to prefer a certain style of photography (i.e. Nikon or Canon will emerge as a clear winner for you from that set). Nikon was definitely a favourite for me: yes there were a couple photos where I preferred the Canon shots, but the bulk were Nikon.

Take the test, see for yourself, let us know :) If you truly see no difference then the A/B test results should come back fairly evenly weighted.

Oh I'm sorry Dave, how many have you posted?

You're the one trying to prove superiority, I'm not trying to prove my opinion is the best opinion in the world...

He's not trying to prove superiority. He's just desperate to be told that he didn't waste his money buying into the more expensive, inferior ecosystem :D

Where have I claimed that? Do you not like when I say "For me, I prefer Nikon"? I have carefully clarified multiple times that this is a personal preference, but you seem unwilling to permit me to have a personal preference.

I'll have a look at the vid later.

Don't worry Sinbad, I didn't waste money. I bought a decent used Nikon DSLR for a real bargain price (only 5000 shuttercount) and have just been playing around with its two kit lenses for the time being. Very happy with it indeed.

Well done, you didn't waste your money.
Can this argument end now?

Who's arguing? 0.o You guys have all been angry about me having a personal preference about something, while refusing to share any photos of your own or risk any opinions of your own that you back up with anything. Oh, and y'all haven't taken the A/B test in the OP.

Come back with some hard facts and we can finally upgrade this spat to an argument.

Arguments do not establish facts.
Facts would imply a discussion.
