Nikon Z9 mirrorless camera with no mechanical shutter

Not quite sure how I feel about this - there's a reason you use a mechanical shutter.

Unless the sensor iteself is a global shutter (in which case htf do they maintain bit depth), then I can see a lot of photographers and videographers giving it a hard pass.

I just wish that news reporters adopt this style of camera.
It's very annoying to watch to a news event and all you can hear are the shutters / “Mirror Slap”

Listen to the Mirror Slap in this clip - can hardly hear the speakers

There's definitely a place for electronic shutters i.e., low intensity action, and I agree that in 90% of cases an electronic shutter is the appropriate choice.

My problem with not having the option of a mechanical shutter means that you simply cannot shoot sport or fast cars. Even golf cant be done "properly".

I don't mind it.

A flash exploding during a press conference is another matter entirely.

Have Nikon published fast moving subject/high shutter speed samples yet, surely they must have found a way around that to have brought it to market?
