Nintendo Plans Upgraded Switch Replacement as Soon as September

Unfortunately the local pricing will be insane

Well they already pricing the dated Switch R1K over the new and more capable Series S so its kinda a no brainier.

Series S = R7000
Switch = R8000
PS 5 DE = R10000

"Switch Pro" will probably join the PS5/Xbox X at the R12000 mark, my guess maybe R1K under that.

Finally. Been waiting for a hardware refresh before investing in a Switch.

Gotta love Nintendo only company that releases older tech with some flashy gimmick, charges an arm and a leg for it. So you can end up playing the same games over.
I mean the GameCube was the last time they actually had a console that could keep up, what happened they made it with tiny discs so it couldn't hold as much.
The Wii sold millions beating the other consoles of its generation, but not a lot of actual people played the games after the novelty wore off.
Then another inferior console that cost a fortune cause they decided to go for a tablet and a console idea.
Next one was a stroke of genius, they realized finally that their portable market is still doing well, that the Wii u idea could be reworked into a tablet that could dock and hook up to the TV.
Still selling like hot cakes, but it's only really good at playing its 3rd party games, because once again it's behind in tech. So now they need to at least catch up to the previous consoles.
I'll take my hat off to them, they've found their loyal fans who will buy their stuff at ridiculous prices when it should not be.

Apple does this too.... :) you'll just have to add a liver to that arm and leg, though
You're forgetting that Apple will take something Androids had for ages and say it's flashy.
Or they'll remove something and say it's too make the device better.

Well I own a switch and I cannot see a reason why I'd upgrade. Unless they bring a massive performance increase here is a pro tip:

Get a PS/XBox instead and play games on your mobile phone if you really need to keep busy while out and about.

Same. I just dont hope they bring out games - Switch Pro only

Won't really make a difference. Every time I get a mail that an item on my wishlist is available it turns out to be mediocre and repetitive and I never buy it.

I picked up my Switch here on the forum second hand at a decent price. Reason I went for the Switch is because I got bored of shooting things. I realised that the last time I really enjoyed a game was Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the Wii. It was just fun.

I had a blast with BoTW and will definitely pick number 2 when it releases, even if Nintendo wants a grand for it.

I'm planning on picking up a Series S still but there's something different about a Nintendo game

There are a metric ton of games on console and especially PC that aren't shooters.

I know. My 360 got plenty milleage on it.

But there's games on Nintendo that you can't get elsewhere. Pikmin is great game, nothing else like it really.
