Soooo soo bad :laugh::ROFL::ROFL:

I'm not sure I like the current direction where a lot of the game seems to be about building stuff out of parts. I just want to play a game using weapons, gear and skills. The first one was amazing but this seems more like a Minecraft game. Fiddling and making stuff might get tedious.

But it's so cool

The game does eventually give you a bunch of templates but most puzzles that I've encountered don't force you to build anything crazy. A lot of areas also just give you premade vehicles.

But anyway it's really not like Minecraft. Ultrahand is just a way to get to a goal or solve a puzzle. You can also ignore that and walk there if you can figure out a way. Or just jank together something that was never intended by the developers but still works.

What's astonishing is the game has been out for a week. Can you imagine the creations we'll see afer months/years as people try all sorts of crazy ideas

That might be true but then the game has all this extra clutter that doesn't interest me. Will see what it's like sometime. I liked the first because of the exploring. I 100% it with everything done including all 900 korok seeds.

As already mentioned, this is almost an identical game with a different story and maps. You now have the sky and the underworld to explore as well as overland. It's much bigger and more exploring. No need to make anything really.

It's a much busier game, for sure. There's a really overwhelming amount of things to do. BOTW had some very empty sections where you were just wandering and I quite liked that. But in TOTK you have the falling sections which are also very empty and let you take some space to reflect and get an overview of the map.

TOTK also seems to have a more linear story and some sections tend to encourage you to go on a straight path towards a major goal. It's not forced but you can tell the game wants you to head in a certain direction.

But then other areas are extremely open like the chasms. I still have no idea what to do there. I kind of feel like overall, TOTK is a much better game from every aspect. It's really hard to imagine going back to BOTW after this.

I really should get around to finishing BoTW - iir, I unlocked the Mechanical Bird and the Elephant before I got distracted and didn't go back to finishing

You should. I finished the main story of BotW just now - what an unbelievably good game. I’d put off playing it for almost a year because the new player experience is poor imo and I couldn’t be bothered to find joy in the game when I had such a backlog on Series X and PS5.

But after the TotK reviews started pouring in, I made a real effort to get into BotW. So glad I did, because once you click it’s amazing.

I still have a ton of side quests, DLC and shrines to complete, but I’m happy to move on to TotK seeing as that was the main point for me. At some point I’ll return to wrap things up.

Big screen or handheld mode?

Prob like 95/5 split in favour of playing docked. More so for the pro controller than the big screen tbh. Playing handheld is really uncomfortable for me.

These days I play about 70% mobile but I put the switch on a laptop stand in bed and use the joycons undocked. It's much better than trying to hold it.

I've got a bed support thing for laptops. I'll give it a try sometimes with the Switch, but whilst using the pro controller. I should probably also check if there aren't attachments for the OLED Switch that add some basic ergonomics to the device.

I use Skull & Co grip. It's cheap and good value

Wow, it looks amazing! Where did you order from?

Edit: Nm. What I thought was a local listing doesn't seem to be the same product.

Ahh maybe it's not for sale in za. I'm not sure what options you have there
I was busy checking out now from their official website, along with their Bluetooth adapter that allows AirPods Pro to work with PS5 and Switch, only to discover that they don't ship to SA. Ffs.

I really want both products. Will probably use MyUS and just eat the extra cost.
