Nintendo Switch: Which Game to buy

Now I have more than Zelda, Diablo and Lumines to play while lying in bed :)

Both were on special - Odyssey for R750 odd and Edith Finch for R75 - ended up paying R42 for Edith Finch 'cos I paid for Odyssey first and the coins earned reduced the price of Edith Finch - heh, something to remember for the future - buy the higher priced game first then you get a bit of a discount on the 2nd game.

I was just looking at getting these 2 game Switch vouchers for my son for Christmas and can't find them on the ZA store. I see them on the US store though, do they come and go here periodically?

My kids got a switch a present from their grandparents (lucky buggers)

It looks cool with the dock and stuff. Why are games so expensive? Switch came with Mario kart. Want the Mario game

I know nothing about games nowadays. I last played games on a 586 PC.

They just seem expensive. don't want my kids online so haven't used the 3 month free offer that came with it. Also don't want another sub to pay for.

Yeah, I forgot it's in my sons name as the primary member and maybe that was why it never worked on the website. I just checked on the Switch and it was there in the store where you said so I'll grab it tonight when I have a minute.

You can buy Digital for cheaper esp when games are on sale See https://www.dekudeals.com/

Else secondhand is also an option but yeah Nintendo 1st party games rarely go on sale and best option is the above 2 for R1.8K option.

Switch online is pretty cheap if you consider the amount of 'free' games that comes with it. Especially the R629 option as you get a whack load of games included.

What region does South Africa fall into? Are these digital versions region locked? (And if so, why the fsck would they do that!!)

I quite like these 'contemplative' games where the music and visuals pull you along - like Cocoon - that was most enjoyable too

Edit: and at R68 it's definitely a bargain :)

I'm enjoying it - it's my first 3D platformer and I haven't had too much time to play - there's so many different moves but I just use the basics :p - also, I don't like playing with joycons unattached so I do miss out on some of the gestures.

It's fun though - not Ori level fun (the story isn't very captivating), but fun nonetheless. I like that there are little unexpected surprises all over the place and 'puzzle' aspects are pretty neat.
 
It seems like there's a flash card for Switch in the wild, meaning people can freely "backup" games without needing to hack their systems.
