nissan juke

Like I said before, it looks like a Murano raped a Micra and the Micra decided to keep the baby.

I'm a Nissan fan but have a look at the Suzuki SX4. When it came out it was about the same price, i think its more expensive now but its a great car.
Its got all wheel drive and a bit more space. Its a nice everyday car and you can engage the low range gears if you need too.

:erm:

Only the top of the range SX4 offers 4wd - at around R245k if I recall - and there's no low range. It might offer a diff lock, but of that I'm not 100% sure.

edit

Although that being said, the SX4 is still worthy of being investigated. It was another car on our list a few months back as well.

I have quite a bit of experience with the turbo one so here's my 2c. I hate the high up driving position, but if you don't really care about driving enjoyment and just want to get from A to B it'll do. It handles pretty well, but understeers and the body roll is pretty annoying. I'm not particularly big and find myself moving around in the seat a lot during cornering. The engine isn't bad - actually it's a pretty fast car, I just find it very boring to drive. It does take a while to get the turbo spooled up which makes swift progress a bit slower than it should be. The gear change is quite short which I like, it could do with more feedback but really not bad. The steering wheel feels best in sport mode but you don't really get the impression that it's connected to the wheels! It's pretty well kitted out and the radio, climate control all work well so I can't complain there. The interior is a bit plasticky, that doesn't really bother me but it might to someone else. One thing I really hate is the lack of storage compartments that close. You basically have the cubby hole. The rest are all open which isn't that great. Washing it is a pain with it being high up and the window wipers can't be left in the lifted position. That's about all from me.

Kia just brought out a facelift Soul. It now comes in a more powerful 2.0L, with extra features, in your price range. It's worth a look. Otherwise wait for the Ford EcoSport or Opel Mokka... both are good looking compact crossovers and should eventually make their way to SA.

As a car the Juke is pretty good but the looks :erm:
Seems like a attention seekers car - you know like the people who dress ridiculously trying to overcompensate for something.

My wife has one.

Its got both all wheel drive and the option to lock the 4x4. I can't see it in the specs sheet but they told us that in that mode the speed was limited to 60km/h and the gear ratio changes, it might have been sales talk.

We actually took it on a 4x4 track and it did ok. The height is not great but higher than normal cars and we were able to pull some pretty steep inclines.

Ye... its 25k more but if you not interested in the 4x4 R220 k is still pretty good when you consider it has a motor plan and 6th gear.

I still don't know why people don't like the look of the Duke. I like it.

Awesome...best description of that car yet, lol!

If your wife likes it, then go for it. It's all about what appeals to a person, and ja...everyone's tastes differ

I absolutely love the look of the Juke. The GT version they've been talking about would be pretty awesome too. I've never been much of a nissan design fan, my almera is as dull as charcoal, the murano is too cheesy and the 350/370z/GT just don't work for me either, but the little juke is quite funky!
