Absolutely nothing that he's ever done in his personal capacity appears to be above board, and even though he's the mot senior public official, he shrouds everything in as much secrecy, obfuscation and layers of half-truths as possible...

Not so sure of that. Communication, or lack thereof, is key.
I have seen this so many times with our clients: they say X, but you have to drag the real story out of them by asking questions, checking with them if they mean this or that, etc. Some people just cannot convey a message in a clear and succint way.
A combination of the two. When he's not reading from a tele-prompter he is absolutely awful. But remember that his responses to these questions have been written for him and planned. So definitely both...
I have received feedback from one of the individuals mentioned in the article, and the feedback is that the post is not true, and the link between HDA, Korong Capital Partners and the project is pure coincidence, on the basis that Moeti Mpuru was merely a tenant of the HDA manager's premises at Unit 2 Chianti Lifestyle Estate.
If this is true, then I will gladly redact the accusatory statements. I won't stop digging though.
Seems quite a coincidence that the agency who might actually get involved if there were government dealings in this deal, happened to have the only member of Korong Capital Partners register his business at the HDA official's personal address. But who knows? It may just be pure coincidence that the funder is dealing with a gentleman who happens to manage the deal through a company he registered at the HDA official's home. Stranger things have happened, haven't they?

Or it may not be and it is pure coincidence. In which case highlighting it was beneficial in terms of eliminating one aspect of potential corruption.

Absolutely, I agree. However the last thing one wants to do is accuse, or make reference to a person in an accusatory manner, of wrong-doing, when in fact they might be one of the few honest government officials or agencies out there.
I have no regrets in highlighting these coincidences that point to a certain outcome, however I have no reservations in redacting what can be proved to be untrue, and apologising to the individual(s) if they feel persecuted...

When questioned about the lease, I was informed there will be no comment. That is all.
Much of the claims in the original post are based on the location of the Korong Capital Partners premises. If it is in fact true that Korong's only member registered the office at his landlord's address who happens to be an HDA official, and was merely a tenant, then there is only the questionable nature of Korong Capital Partners to be dealt with, and the HDA therefore have no affiliation with the deal. The person I spoke to denied any involvement by the HDA in the freeway project, and stated that the claims are completely untrue and unfounded.
I still find the coincidence a little extraordinary, but I respect a person's right to privacy, so have redacted the name of the HDA official. I ask that you do the same if you have quoted the original text or mentioned the official's name. We are speculating based on information that we cannot investigate further, so it makes sense to keep the official out of it for the time being. I'll allow actual investigative journos to uncover anything if it exists - they have the details now. My intention was only to draw people's attention to the massive coincidences which point to something more than the official story.
I certainly don't want to persecute an innocent person and I hope none of you do either. So kindly remove the references to the actual official and let's debate Korong for now...
This individual is in no position to explain any of them if he/she is innocent of any wrong-doing. If not, then what I have in writing from this individual is a lie. I doubt anyone would put a lie of this nature in writing, so for the time being I do believe the official when he/she claims that Mr Mpuru was merely a tenant, but the coincidence I have left in the post for people to draw their own conclusions...
I noticed that in your initial post you kept on referring to the HDA manager as a HE even though the name quoted suggested that she was a woman. From there I already doubted whether you had done any homework on your story. A quick search and follow up could have spared your blushes and a need to redact. I think there is a lesson to be learnt here and I hope you don't miss out.
Surely before you shroud a person in this sort of controversy, the least you can do is find out who you are talking about or else do not mention them by name. Politicians might be fare game but you must always remember that public servants are just that - ordinary workers trying to make an honest living for their families and unless you have concrete facts rather leave people's names out it.
The big IF remains. I only redacted the name because of privacy concerns. Doesn't mean I necessarily buy the excuse. I attempted to put puzzle pieces together based on public information. The gender of those concerned were, to be frank, of no relevance to the matter...
