I have recently moved to a new flat.
all the flats I was able to find is fairly new(Hence no telkom lines)
Apparently I need to get something like 60% of the folks in the complex interested before telkom will even consider installing lines in the complex.

Is this true?

I am allready getting withdrawals from not being able to game online :(
Would I have some way I can push this thing happening besides walking around with a petition form in the complex(and thats also if 60% is even interested). I am sure I am gonna have trouble finding that amount of interested people as this is now a mobile generation and I am sure most folks will only have mobile phones and be happy with that.

There must be some way I can sort something out?

alternatives like i-burst or 3g isnt options
*iburst isnt available in Witbank
*3g is too unstable and expensive to game on.....

What can I do?

Just run your own lines to the kerb.

all you need is Telkom grade communications wire... and the junction boxes. You can get most of that freely available. Drill the holes and glue the wires nicely. all Telkom has to do then is hook you into the kerb.

surely your complex should have put the lines in already as part of the building process?

People have the issue all over, even in a lani complex in Centurion, they have this issue.

Only thing I can think off is find someone next door (to complex) with Telkom and create a Network, not even sure what games will be like then... :(

The complex management wont allow me to, its a awesome place to stay (would have been better if I had internet)
They could have however I still need that box telkom needs to install outside the complex where they split and distribute all the lines into the complex

dude, I would never move anywhere where there was no viable internet. That's like not having plumbing! :p

yar it is :P

prob is I had to be out of my last flat and could not find a complex that had existing telkom lines ......

Had the same problem. My flat had the infratructure installed but we werent connected to the Telkom exchange because there wasnt enough of a demand coming from the complex. Apparently they needed like 40 or so people to request a line before they went ahead with installation. Its been 6 months and we are finally connected. Had an appointment with the techie to install my line..the tool didnt rock up. Im seriously not happy. I was so close to gaming. Maybe another week or two.
