I am looking at starting a company, Joint venture to provide a solution to the current 3 gb Cap limit, please if people could respond to this, by either saying they would use a service like this or if they would not be intrested. Thanks [:D]

Hi Dean

I think it might be a good idea to give us some idea of what you want to offer. This will make it easier for us to indicate whether we think it is feasible or not.

Ok, in brief, I own an ISP, so this give me access to large amount of International Access. With this in mind, I have 95 % spare capacity at night and about 35% during the day. So basicaly for a fee I would allow gaureeneted bandwidth through the systems, Proxy servers, with the use of Packteers, we are able to profile the traffic etc ? so if we were to launch something in this area, I am just trying to find out if people would be intrested ?

If you'll be able to offer a "VPN" solution I'd definately be interested. That means that we can set our servers up to route all our international traffic through the VPN, and also, you'll be able to give us a static IP if that was required. That would eliminate the need for all the users on a LAN to go set up proxy setting, and access control on your side is simply done via the logon of the VPN.

Nocap took away our SOCKS proxy server, so we can't use P2P applications.

Hi

I never thought of myself as greedy, just trying to make a living. O well. I have been in contact with one of my clients who suggested that i have a seperate Socks5 proxy for the the people on the R200 package. This would be totally unguarenteed bandwidth as it will allow up to 50 people on to it. But basically what i would do is seperate my web and Socks proxy. This was one of my plans for this month. I had to disable socks on the smaller package as it was killing the browsing speeds and people complained about this.
Providing a service like this is very difficult as people expect different things and i need to find a balance.

Thanx
Jason

R200 p/m uncapped ADSL ISP account then you will have the orders filing in...

See what i was saying in the other thread kreno?

They're just a bunch of sissy whiners

How can he charge R200 pm for uncapped account if it costs more than that for a regular account? O_o

Is what you are offering is a service similar to NoCap? R200 seems to be the going price for that kind of a service. I still don't like the idea of payinf R1200 incl line rental for uncapped ADSL...

Solar, I know that's what the orginal poster meant, but neobyte said, "R200 p/m uncapped ADSL ISP account then you will have the orders filing in..."

Perhaps I still have my head in the States. I suppose a R200 account is infeasible. However R200 for a proxy or similar service sounds okay?
